Hindi film reviews - World Cupp 2011 - free download

Backdrop of the film is sports. The film deals with the game of Cricket. Antagonism for World Cupp 2011, Indian team is going on and teams from different countries are participating. One of the very strong players is Ravi Indulkar from India.

In the end of the last decade of the 20th century, a slow but sure dispute between the gangsters created roughness in the underworld. Some very high profile people and businessmen were extorted, but the media covered these news extensively and the government took a strict action against the underworld.

And the braking impact was created when home minister R.R. Patil completely banned the dance bars in Mumbai.

In such conditions when circumstances were not so good. Then underworld centralized attention on sports as a source of making money, and they aimed the most glamorous game - Cricket.

Ravi Kapoor is playing the main lead as Captain Ravi Indulkar of the Indian Cricket Team. His four friends Rajpal, Hiten, Irfan and Balwinder, they fix a World Cupp Match held in 2009 against Pakistan with a bookie - Shobhan.

And then the twist as always, they are exposed by press reporter Balakrishnan. BICI bans the caoptain Ravi Indulkar and his four teammates for four years. Ravi's girlfriend Soha (Manisha Chatterjee) also leaves him because of his deeds, and in the meanwhile Ravi also loses his dad.

The coach once again gives chance to Ravi and his four teammates after proving their patriotism to play for World Cupp 2011. Once again India faces its arch rival Pakistan in the final.

Everyone has a doubt in their mind and as we know history repeats itself. King of bookies Shobhan once again tries to fix the match with the help of Ravi. This time Ravi refuses his offer, in retaliation he kidnaps Ravi's girlfriend Soha who is a Physiotherapist of Indian cricket team. As soon as Ravi comes to know about Soha's kidnapping, he informs the home minister who then puts an encounter specialist on this job. The encounter specialist rescues Soha at the risk to his life. On the other hand Ravi is struggling to win the World Cupp 2011.

A nice thing about this film is its decent intention with which it is made to uncover the invisible racket of match fixing. Unlike as in the film ‘Jannat’ where the subject was taken up in a commercial angle, there is a sincere attempt by Ravi Kapoor who goes deeper into the core of the issue which degrades the game of cricket in

Something not seen in Hindi films before, there are number of names taken in the film which resemble many real life characters that were in the news when the Indian team was passing through a disgraceful patch. Also more, we have a Bengali and a Sikh team member indicating resemblance to our dada and Bhajji.

One thing more, it seems some serious ground work is done by the script writers on the finer details of the game.

About the performances, the lead actor-writer-director with a chocolate face - Ravi Kapoor is okay for his first film. Manisha Chatterjee, as his love interest, is just good looking and average in performance. Prem Chopra, Suresh Oberoi and Zakhir Hussain are fine.

3 idiots is the most remarkable film of 2009, which touches the right chord in people's heart with its witty story telling, marvelous acting and the incisive look which the film takes at the education system in India.

Inspired by Chetan Bhagat's novel, ‘Five Point Someone’ chronicles the tale of three friends who are room mates in an engineering college.

Farhan Qureshi (R. Madhavan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi), and Rancho or Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad (Aamir Khan) are three engineering students who share the same room in a hostel in one of the best engineering colleges in India.

Farhan and Raju are average students from modest backgrounds; Rancho is a wealthy genius who studies for the sheer joy of it. He has a passion for knowledge and his gift for creating machines that incurs the wrath of Professor Viru Sahastrabudhhe (ViruS) played brilliantly by Boman Irani.

The principal Virus (as called by the boys) is threatened by Rancho's talent, so he just labels him an "idiot" and even attempts to destroy his friendship with Farhan and Raju. Virus’ model student is Chatur Ramalingam (Omi Vaidya), a geek who lives by conforming to the expectations of the system, mindless cramming, and unethical means of destroying his competition. Meanwhile, Rancho also falls in love with Pia (Kareena Kapoor) who is a pre-med student and the principal’s daughter.

And then one day, suddenly, Rancho vanished...

The friend who influenced and inspired them to think creatively and independently, even as the conformist world called them three idiots. Where is the original idiot now?

Farhan and Raju embark on a quest for a lost buddy. On this journey, they encounter a long forgotten bet, a wedding they must crash, and a funeral that goes impossible out of control. As they make their way through the perilous landscape, another journey begins: their inner journey through memory lane and the story of their friend - the irrepressible free-thinker Rancho, who in his unique way touched and changed their lives.

It's a story of their hostel days that swings between Rancho's romance with the spirited Pia, and his clash with an oppressive mentor, Viru Sahastrabudhhe.

Finally, in misty mountains of unparalleled beauty, the friends find the key to the secret.

The story of these 3 friends is framed as a flashback from the present day, ten years after graduation. Immediately after the convocation, Raju and Farhan have lost contact with Rancho who disappeared during the graduation party, so they begin a journey to find him.

Chatur, who is now a wealthy and successful businessman, joins them in the search for Rancho, as he has a desire to settle a bet with Rancho, Raju and Farhan also find Pia and take her along with them to meet Rancho.

Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi come up with a commendable performance. Kareena Kapoor is there for a short role, and she is just marvelous.

Chatur Ramalingam played by Omi Vaidya is excellent and creates an impression with his acidic tongue and gestures in the movie. Mona Singh doesn't get much scope. Jaaved Jaffery is competent. Pareekshit Sahani is decent.

On the downside, some unbelievable filmy situations which can be excused as writer's liberty like the episode of Mona's delivery was a bit far stretched, and the conformist would disapprove scenes of the boys dropping off their trousers in the ragging scene and in subsequent scenes.

This film has tremendous youth appeal and feel-good factor and makes you laugh and in the process you learn the golden rules which it preaches is - Life is not about getting marks, grades but chasing your dreams.

3 Idiots isn't an ordinary film. It's a life-changing experience, and an insightful laugh - riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits: self-actualization.

A classic, brilliant and a highly entertaining film. What an awesome film to end the year 2009.

The three friends Rahul, Raj and Veer get suddenly wound up in Rani Yashodhara Devi’s will and they are entitled to get Rupees 900 crores among all three of them..

But there's a clause which states that if one friend is missing the amount will be divided into two but if 2 are missing then the entire amount of Rs.900 crores would go to the only survivor and if all the 3 are not found then all the amount would be transferred to Mr. Malhotra's N.G.O. "AKSHAR".

The question arises as to why Rani Yashodhra Devi gave such a big chunk of her wealth to these 3 college friends and not to any one if her relatives. It's quite strange?

Now, a killer is on the loose to get his hands on that money or so it seems.

Veer's friend Ruby wanted to warn them that their life is in danger but before she could spill the beans, she was murdered.

Dalip Tahil as Saxena a middle aged writer who has had his moments of glory, fame and success. Some people say that he married Jolly (Navneet Nishan) for money. He is the intellectual that everyone wants to be with whereas Jolly is often the butt of many jokes.

Anu Menon as Nandini is married to Amit (Vinay Pathak). The strain in their relationship begins when she catches him watching porn. She sees it as an indication of a failure of their relationship. She hopes to talk about it to her friends, Jolly and Mitali.

Whats worse is that Mitali just can't seem to keep it together around him - she's livid, she's upset, she's not telling him why - all rolled into one and Rahul keeps thinking back to the previous night and wondering if she caught a whiff of what happened the previous night with Sophia.

As he chases his night for answers, his friends Saxena and Amit are going through their own marital crises of sorts. Driven to his wit's end he realizes he must seek Sophia out to restore his sanity.

Neha Dhupia as Sophia is the stereotypical femme fatale. An aspiring actor who holds everybody's attention at the party but remains distant and aloof. Her character is like a jigsaw puzzle in the film, which slowly unfolds through a series of interesting interactions with the men she meets.

This film is for audiences looking desperately for new ideas, new screenplays to regenerate their love for good, exciting, fun cinema. It is Dangerous and edgy as it may be, it's also funny. Clever, funny, incredibly refreshing, Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi? is a film that will keep you guessing all the way through.
